WHO WE ARE
Create. Nurture. Encourage
Kingscliff Performing Arts was opened by Kristy Godfrey in February 2004. Our team of trained staff are dedicated to providing a fun and healthy atmosphere where students can learn the love of dance and the arts. Our aim is to challenge, inspire, build confidence and self-esteem in all students as they learn from professional teachers and dancers in the industry. We create a motivated environment for students to showcase their work through concerts, eisteddfods and special events.
We have worked hard to establish a dedicated presence throughout the Tweed Coast communities and continue to focus on our local community and the talented young people that live here.
KPA is an initiative of C3 Church Kingscliff.
CLASSES WE OFFER

TINIES DANCE CLASSES
Classes begin at 2-4yrs for our Tinies. This class is designed as an introduction to music, co-ordination, Ballet and Jazz dance technique. Students have a ball dressing in their tutus, fairy outfits, you name it whilst learning in a fun safe environment. Dancing to all the favourite tunes is a great way to introduce a passion for dance.

JAZZ CLASSES
An upbeat class that introduces the basic technique of jazz. Using a variety of music, emphasis is on building the foundations of body control and rhythm. This is a great way to introduce students to the fun of dance.

HIP HOP DANCE CLASS
A fast-paced, high-energy style of dance. After a warm-up, class will focus on learning aerobic dance combinations done to pop and hip-hop music. This is an extremely popular style of dance and is heaps of fun.
We also offer boys only Hip Hop classes!

CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL DANCE CLASSES
Contemporary dance as an art form is more expressive and less structured than ballet while still emphasising proper alignment and use of the body. This class offers an eclectic blend of modern techniques with a focus on body control and core stability. Movements can be lyrical and soft, to abstract and angular. A really rewarding and lovely style of dance.

BALLET CLASSES
Ballet is fundamental to any dancer. It is the basis of dance technique and focuses on posture, core strength, flexibility, enhancing suppleness and stretching, improving balance and alignment. Students learn about discipline and commitment which are essential values in all versatile dancers.
All our ballet classes are R.A.D structured. Students start from the beginning and work their way through the grades with the participation of exams optional.

ACROBATICS CLASSES
This class combines the power of gymnastics and the strength and flexibility of acrobatics. Students will gain flexibility, strength and body control. This dance based acrobatics will have you tumbling and cartwheeling all over the place.

MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES
Musical Theatre is a theatrical dance style that includes dance technique and acting to songs from Broadway shows and musicals. These dance numbers usually consist of a story being told or a character being formed. We also include basic singing and vocal training in this class. They are lots of fun exploring acting techniques, vocals and dance.

EISTEDDFOD DANCE CLASSES
Are focused on working towards eisteddfods and performance opportunities that arise. These classes are not restricted to one style of dance and will vary according to the performance. Within this class there are a fusion of styles such as Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Cabaret and Hip Hop. These classes are invitation only and designed for students who are passionate in furthering their dance ability.

PRIVATE DANCE CLASSES
These personalised lessons give one-on-one tuition to students looking to develop their skills in the specific areas that they have selected. Eisteddfod performances are optional.
